Getting There

  • Walking

    From Old Aberdeen, start at the University of Aberdeen and head south towards the main road, King Street. Once you reach King Street, turn left and continue walking. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. After about a 20-minute walk, you will arrive at the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A956 (also known as the Beach Boulevard). Continue walking straight, and after approximately 10 minutes, you will see the entrance to Aberdeen Beach on your right. The beach area is easily accessible and well signposted.

    From Old Aberdeen, walk to the nearest bus stop on King Street. Look for bus numbers 1, 2, or 3, which head towards the city center and towards the beach. The bus fare is around £1.50 for a single journey. After a short ride of about 10 minutes, get off at the 'Beach Boulevard' stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to reach the beach. Follow the signs directing you towards the Esplanade, and you will arrive at Aberdeen Beach.

    If you're up for it, you can rent a bicycle from a local bike rental shop in Old Aberdeen. Once you have your bike, head towards King Street and follow the same route as the walking directions.
