From Chester city centre, head towards the Chester Bus Interchange located at Gorse St. Exit the interchange and walk to the nearest bus stop. Take a bus heading to Liverpool. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Liverpool, get off at the stop closest to the city centre. From there, navigate towards St. John’s Beacon, a notable landmark. Head east on St. John’s Lane, then turn right onto Upper Duke St. Continue straight until you reach Hope St, then take a left. Continue walking until you reach Upper Parliament St. Finally, turn right onto St James Rd where St James Memorial Cemetery will be located. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop to the cemetery.

From Chester, you can take a direct train to Liverpool Lime Street Station from Chester Railway Station. The train journey takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Liverpool Lime Street Station, exit the station and walk towards St. John’s Lane. From there, follow the directions previously mentioned for walking: head east on St. John’s Lane, turn right onto Upper Duke St, then left onto Hope St, continue until you reach Upper Parliament St, turn right onto St James Rd, and St James Memorial Cemetery will be on your left. This walk from the train station to the cemetery will take around 20 minutes.
