Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Down, head northwest on the A7 towards Belfast. Follow the signs for the M1 motorway and merge onto the M1. Continue on the M1, then take the exit for the A2 towards Bangor. Stay on the A2 until you reach the junction for the A6. Merge onto the A6 and continue until you reach the Cave Hill Country Park. There is parking available at the park, but be aware that there may be a small fee for parking, generally around £5 for the day.

    From Down, you can take a bus or train to Belfast. If you choose the bus, take the 238 or 239 bus from Down to Belfast city center. From the city center, transfer to the Metro service 1A or 1B towards Cavehill. Get off at the Cave Hill stop. Walk towards the Cave Hill Country Park entrance, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Be sure to check the bus and train schedules in advance for any changes and consider a return ticket which typically costs around £10.
