Getting There

• Car

  From any location in Dumfriesshire, head towards Dumfries city center. If you are on the M74 motorway, take the exit for A75 towards Dumfries. Once you reach Dumfries, follow signs for the town center. Upon entering the town, you can use the A780 (New Abbey Road) which leads directly toward Castledykes Park. The park is located at Dumfries DG1 4AX. You can find parking nearby in the designated parking areas, but be sure to check for any parking fees.

• Public Transport - Bus

  If you are using public transportation, head to the nearest bus station. Look for buses heading towards Dumfries. Once you arrive at Dumfries bus station, you can walk to Castledykes Park, which is approximately a 15-minute walk. Head south on the A780 (New Abbey Road), then turn left onto the park entrance which will be signposted as you approach.   For those coming from outside Dumfrieshire, take a train to Dumfries Railway Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and follow the signs for the bus station or taxi rank. To reach Castledykes Park from the train station, you can either take a local bus or a taxi. If walking, it’s about a 25-minute walk: head south on the A780 (New Abbey Road) towards the park entrance. Be aware that train tickets may vary in price depending on your departure location.
