Getting There

  • Walking

    From the city centre of Inverness, head towards the River Ness. Follow the riverside path heading south until you reach the Ness Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue along the path on the south side of the river. You will pass several parks and the Inverness Cathedral on your right. Keep following the riverbank until you reach the end of the path near the A82 road. At this point, you can take a left onto the A82 towards Fort Augustus. Continue walking along the A82 for approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) until you reach the Inverfarigaig area. Look for the sign pointing to Loch Ness viewpoint, which is a short walk up the hill from the main road.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From the city centre of Inverness, walk to the main bus station located at Margaret Street. Take the number 919 bus towards Fort Augustus or the number 2 bus towards Dores. Make sure to inform the driver that you wish to get off at the stop for Inverfarigaig. After getting off the bus, walk up the hill from the bus stop following the sign towards Loch Ness viewpoint. The viewpoint is approximately a 20-minute walk uphill from where the bus drops you off.
