Once you arrive in Fort Augustus, you can find several viewpoints and access points to Loch Ness.   For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Inverness to Fort Augustus. The bus service, operated by Stagecoach, runs regularly and takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Fort Augustus bus station, you can easily walk to the loch, which is just a short distance away. There are several paths leading to the loch from the village, where you can enjoy the stunning views and possibly take a boat tour.

• Boat Tour

  If you want to experience Loch Ness from the water, you can book a boat tour from Fort Augustus. These tours typically last about 1-2 hours and provide a unique vantage point of the loch and its surroundings. Prices vary depending on the tour operator, so it’s advisable to check in advance and book your tickets online or at the local tourism center.

• Walking

  For the more adventurous, you can hike along the Great Glen Way, which runs alongside Loch Ness. Starting from Fort Augustus, you can enjoy scenic views and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Highlands. The full trail stretches for 73 miles (117 kilometers), but you can choose to walk shorter sections. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear and bring water and snacks for the journey.
