Car
If you're traveling by car, start from central Lanark. Head southwest on the A72 and then take the A70 towards Lesmahagow. Follow signs for the A72 and then merge onto the A74(M) towards Carlisle. After approximately 4 miles, exit at Junction 10, and follow signs for Lesmahagow. Continue on the B7078 until you reach Blackwood. Craignethan Castle is located at Blackwood, Lesmahagow, ML11 9PL, and there is a small parking area available.

For those using public transportation, take a train from Lanark Railway Station to Carluke Station. From Carluke, you can catch a bus (Service 10) towards Lesmahagow. Get off at Blackwood. Once you arrive in Blackwood, Craignethan Castle is about a 15-minute walk. Head northeast on Blackwood Road, then take a left onto Craignethan Road, which will lead you directly to the castle. Make sure to check the local bus schedules, as they may vary.

If you're already in Blackwood or nearby and prefer to walk, head southeast on Blackwood Road. Continue straight until you reach Craignethan Road, and then turn left.
