Walking
If you're starting from Newcastle Central Station, exit the station and head towards the main street, Neville Street. Continue straight onto Westgate Road. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto the A186 (St Mary’s Place) and continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Northumberland Road, which will lead you towards the city center. Continue straight for about 0.2 miles until you reach the junction with Grey Street. At this point, you can explore the beautiful architecture around Theatre Royal and continue straight onto Grey Street until you reach Grey’s Monument. From Grey’s Monument, take the bus to Tynemouth. Board the Metro Line at Monument Station and head towards Tynemouth Station, which takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Tynemouth Station, exit the station and walk east towards the coast for about 10-15 minutes along Front Street until you reach Collingwood Monument, which is located in Tynemouth, North Shields NE30 4DD.

From Newcastle city center, you can take the Metro from Monument Station. Board the Tyne and Wear Metro towards South Shields and get off at Tynemouth Station, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. Once at Tynemouth Station, exit and turn right onto Front Street. Follow Front Street for about 10-15 minutes until you see Collingwood Monument located in Tynemouth, North Shields NE30 4DD. The Metro is frequent, ensuring you won’t have to wait long for a train.
