From Quayside, walk towards the nearest metro station, which is 'Tyne and Wear Metro - Quayside'. Board the metro train heading towards 'Airport' or 'South Hylton'. You will need to change trains at 'Haymarket' station. At Haymarket, transfer to a train heading towards 'South Shields' and get off at 'Benton' station. The total metro fare is approximately £3.00.

Upon arriving at 'Benton' station, exit the station and head southwest on Station Road. Continue straight onto Whitley Road (A186). Follow Whitley Road for about 1.5 miles. The Rising Sun Countryside Centre will be on your right-hand side. This walk will take around 30 minutes.
