From Quayside, walk towards the nearest metro station, which is 'Tyne and Wear Metro - Quayside'. Board the metro train heading towards 'Airport' or 'South Hylton'. You will need to change trains at 'Haymarket' station. At Haymarket, transfer to a train heading towards 'South Shields' and get off at 'Benton' station. The total metro fare is approximately £3.00.

Upon arriving at 'Benton' station, exit the station and head southwest on Station Road. Continue straight onto Whitley Road (A186). Follow Whitley Road for about 1.5 miles. The Rising Sun Countryside Centre will be on your right-hand side. This walk will take around 30 minutes.

Alternatively, from 'Benton' station, you can catch a bus to The Rising Sun Countryside Centre. Look for the bus stop near the station and take bus number 1 or 51. Both buses head towards 'Whitley Road'. The bus fare is approximately £2.50. Get off at the stop named 'The Rising Sun'.
