Car
From Perth, take the A9 southbound. Continue on A9 for approximately 20 miles until you reach the M74 junction. Merge onto the M74 towards Glasgow. After about 14 miles, take exit 12 for the A72 towards Lanark. Follow the A72 for about 7 miles until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A70 towards Lesmahagow. After roughly 4 miles, take a left onto the A73. Continue for about 2 miles, then turn right onto the B7078. Follow the road for about 3 miles, and you will see signs for Craignethan Castle. The castle is located at Blackwood, Lesmahagow, Lanark ML11 9PL. Parking is available on-site.

Start by taking a train from Perth to Lanark. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes around 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Lanark Station, exit the station and catch the number 29 bus towards Lesmahagow. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the stop for Blackwood.
