From Stirling city centre, head southeast on Dumbarton Road (A84) towards the River Forth. Continue walking until you reach the roundabout at the junction with the A91. Take the first exit onto the A91 and continue straight for approximately 1 mile (1.6 km). After passing the railway bridge, look for the footpath on your right leading to Old Drove Road. Follow Old Drove Road uphill, and after about 0.5 miles (800 meters), you will see the entrance to Gillies Hill Hillfort, marked by a small sign.

From there, walk back towards the road you just came from and take a left onto Old Drove Road.
