Walking
From St. Peter's Basilica, exit the basilica and walk towards the main entrance of Vatican City. Cross the street to reach the Via della Conciliazione. Continue straight on this road until you reach the Tiber River. Turn left and follow the riverbank until you reach the Ponte Sant'Angelo. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Follow this road until you reach Piazza Navona. From Piazza Navona, head east towards Via del Plebiscito, then continue straight until you reach Largo di Villa Peretti, where the National Roman Museum - Palazzo Massimo is located.

Public Transport
From St. Peter's Basilica, walk to the nearest metro station, Ottaviano (Line A). Take the metro towards Anagnina and get off at the Termini station. At Termini, transfer to Line B (the blue line) and take the train towards Laurentina. Get off at the Colosseo station. From Colosseo, you can walk to Largo di Villa Peretti in about 15 minutes. Head north on Via della Polveriera, then turn left onto Via di San Giovanni in Laterano, and continue until you reach Largo di Villa Peretti.
