Walking
From the main entrance of the Vatican Gardens, exit towards Viale Vaticano. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via della Conciliazione. Cross over to the other side of Via della Conciliazione and head southeast towards the Tiber River. Continue along the riverbank until you reach the Ponte Sant'Angelo. Cross the bridge, and once on the other side, continue straight into the city until you reach Via Santo Stefano Rotondo. The Basilica di Santo Stefano Rotondo will be on your left at number 7.

From the Vatican Gardens, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Viale Vaticano. Take bus number 81 towards 'Stazione Trastevere'. Get off at the 'Piazza Venezia' stop. From there, walk towards Via di San Lorenzo in Lucina, then turn right onto Via del Corso. Continue until you reach Via Santo Stefano Rotondo. The Basilica di Santo Stefano Rotondo will be located at number 7 on your left.
