Walking
From the entrance of the Vatican Gardens, exit towards the main street, Via di Porta Angelica. Turn right and walk straight until you reach Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). Once in the square, head towards Via della Conciliazione and continue walking until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. After crossing, walk straight ahead to the first intersection and turn left onto Via di San Giovanni dei Fiorentini. Follow this road until you reach Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere.

Public Transport
From the Vatican Gardens, exit and walk towards the nearest bus stop located on Via di Porta Angelica. Take the bus number 64, which heads towards Termini. Get off at the stop ‘Piazza Venezia’. From there, transfer to tram line 8 towards Casaletto. Ride the tram and get off at the stop ‘Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere’. The basilica will be directly in front of you.
