Walking
From the Vatican Gardens, exit the gardens through the main entrance. Once outside, head towards the main road, Viale Vaticano. As you walk down Viale Vaticano, continue straight until you reach Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). From Piazza San Pietro, you will need to walk through the bustling streets of Rome. Head east on Via della Conciliazione, which will take you directly to the Tiber River. Cross the river via the Ponte Sant'Angelo. After crossing, continue straight on Via di San Gregorio until you reach Via dei Fori Imperiali. Turn left onto Via dei Fori Imperiali and walk straight until you reach the Colosseum. The Colosseum will be on your right at Piazza del Colosseo, 1.

Bus
From the Vatican Gardens, walk to the nearest bus stop located at Piazza San Pietro. Take bus number 64 towards Termini. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the stop called 'Piazza dei Cinquecento'. From there, transfer to bus number 87 towards 'Piazza Venezia' and get off at the stop 'Colosseo'. The Colosseum will be directly in front of you upon disembarking.

From the Vatican Gardens, exit the gardens and walk to the nearest metro station, Ottaviano (Line A). Take the metro towards Anagnina and get off at Termini station. From Termini, transfer to Line B and take the train towards Laurentina. Get off at the Colosseo station. Once you exit the station, you will find the Colosseum directly in front of you.
