Walking
From the entrance of the Vatican Gardens, head towards the main exit gate. Once outside the gardens, turn left and walk towards Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). Continue straight until you reach the large colonnades of St. Peter's Basilica. From there, walk across the square towards the right side of the basilica until you see Via Garibaldi. Turn left onto Via Garibaldi and follow it for approximately 10-15 minutes. The Fontana dell'Acqua Paola will be on your left, located at the top of the Gianicolo hill.

Exit the Vatican Gardens and walk towards the Vatican Museums entrance. From there, head towards Viale Vaticano and turn right. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via Garibaldi. Turn left onto Via Garibaldi and walk for about 15 minutes. You will find the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola on your left side.

Public Transport
After exiting the Vatican Gardens, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Viale Vaticano. Take bus number 870 towards 'Gianicolo' and get off at the 'Gianicolo' stop. From the bus stop, walk uphill for a short distance, and you will see the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola ahead of you.
