Walking
From the Vatican Library, exit the building and head towards the main entrance of St. Peter's Basilica, which is just a short walk away. Once you reach the square (Piazza San Pietro), walk towards the right side of the Basilica. Look for signs directing you towards the Excavation Office. The office is located at WF23+MJ7, which is within the Vatican area, not far from the main entrance.
Public Transportation
If you are starting from a location outside the Vatican Library, take the metro line A and get off at Ottaviano station. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to the Vatican Library. After visiting the library, exit towards St. Peter's Basilica. Follow the walking directions mentioned above to reach the Excavation Office.
Car
If you are driving, head towards Vatican City and look for parking areas nearby, such as the parking lot at Piazza Cavour. Once parked, walk towards St. Peter's Basilica. Follow the walking directions from the Vatican Library to the Excavation Office as previously described. Be aware that traffic restrictions apply in the Vatican, so it's advisable to check local regulations regarding driving in the area.
