Walking
From the Vatican Library, exit the building and head towards the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. As you reach the Basilica, you will see the impressive dome. Continue walking towards the left of the Basilica, following the path that leads to the gardens. This path will guide you up to the base of Vatican Hill, where you can enjoy a scenic view of the Vatican.
Bus
If you prefer public transport, exit the Vatican Library and walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via di Porta Cavalleggeri. You can take Bus 34 or 81. Both routes will take you closer to Vatican Hill. Make sure to purchase your ticket beforehand from a tobacco shop or ticket machine; a single ticket costs around €1.50. After about 10-15 minutes, get off at the stop named 'Piazza San Pietro'. From there, follow the walking directions mentioned above towards St. Peter's Basilica and then up to Vatican Hill.
Taxi
For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from the Vatican Library. Simply request the driver to take you to Vatican Hill. The journey should take approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxi fares in Vatican City are generally around €10-€15 for this short trip.
