Walking
If you are in Dong Da District, start by walking towards Phan Dinh Phung Street. Head north for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Tran Quang Khai Street. Turn right onto Tran Quang Khai Street and continue walking for about 500 meters. You will see Hoan Kiem Lake on your left. Keep walking along the lake until you reach the end of the lake and turn left onto Dinh Tien Hoang Street. Walk for another 200 meters and you will find the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre at 57B Dinh Tien Hoang.

Cyclo
Another option is to take a cyclo (a traditional Vietnamese three-wheeled bicycle taxi). You can find cyclo drivers around popular areas in Dong Da District. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it typically costs around 30,000 to 50,000 VND for a ride to the theatre, depending on your starting location. Ask the driver to take you to '57B Đinh Tiên Hoàng, Hàng Bạc, Hoàn Kiếm' and enjoy the ride through the city.

Public Bus
You can also take public transportation. Look for bus number 09 which travels from Dong Da District to Hoan Kiem District. Board the bus at the nearest bus stop in Dong Da, and ride until you reach the 'Trần Hưng Đạo' stop. From there, walk about 10 minutes towards Hoan Kiem Lake. Once you reach the lake, follow the instructions for walking to the theatre as described previously. The bus fare is around 7,000 VND.
