    If you are in Hoan Kiem Lake area, start at the lake and head east on Dinh Tien Hoang street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Tràng Tiền street. Turn left onto Tràng Tiền street and walk straight for about 500 meters. The Vietnam National Museum of History will be on your right at 1 Tràng Tiền.

    Find a cyclo (a three-wheeled bicycle taxi) in the Old Quarter. Tell the driver you want to go to 'Bảo tàng Lịch sử Việt Nam' or show them the address: 1 Tràng Tiền. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off right in front of the museum.
