If you are driving from Richmond, VA, take I-95 South. Continue on I-95 S for approximately 20 miles. Take exit 52 for US-301 S toward Petersburg. Merge onto US-301 S and continue for about 8 miles. Turn left onto Pocahontas St. The Pocahontas Oldest Black Community is located at 151 Pocahontas St, Petersburg, VA 23803. Parking is available on the street.

To reach Pocahontas from Richmond via public transport, take the Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) bus 1 (Broad Street) towards the Downtown Transfer Station. Then transfer to the Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) bus 1 at the transfer station. The PAT bus will take you directly to Petersburg. Once in Petersburg, you may need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach 151 Pocahontas St. Please check the PAT schedule for the most current times and fares, which may vary.
