From downtown Charlottesville, head to the Charlottesville Transit Center located at 615 E Water St. Take the #7 bus (Route 7) towards 'Belmont' or the #10 bus (Route 10) towards 'Monticello'. These buses run approximately every 30 minutes. Ask the driver to inform you when you reach the stop for 'Carter Mountain Orchard' or 'Carters Mountain Trail'. Once you get off, you'll need to walk about 0.5 miles (approximately 10-15 minutes) uphill to reach the orchard entrance at 1435 Carters Mountain Trail.

Bicycle
If you're comfortable biking, you can rent a bike from a local shop in downtown Charlottesville. Head south on 4th St SE, then turn left onto E Main St and continue for about a mile. Follow signs for the 'Carter Mountain Orchard' bike route. You will bike approximately 3 miles along a scenic route that leads to Carters Mountain Trail, which is a steep incline as you approach the orchard. Lock your bike at the designated bike rack near the orchard entrance.

If you prefer to walk, start from the downtown area, making your way to the intersection of E Main St and S 1st St. Head south on S 1st St, then make a right onto E Jefferson St, continuing until you reach the intersection with S 3rd St. Turn left on S 3rd St and continue until you reach the entrance of the 'Carter Mountain Orchard'. This walk is approximately 2.5 miles and will take around an hour. Be prepared for some uphill walking as you approach the orchard.
