If you are starting from downtown Fredericksburg, head east on Princess Anne Street towards the Rappahannock River. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto Caroline Street and continue walking for about 0.3 miles. You will pass several shops and cafes. At the intersection with Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway), turn right. Walk along Route 1 for approximately 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with Lee Drive. Turn left onto Lee Drive. Continue on Lee Drive for about 0.7 miles; the Fredericksburg Battlefield visitor center will be on your right, and the battlefield site is accessible nearby.
