    If you are in downtown Petersburg, start at the intersection of Sycamore St and E Washington St. Head south on Sycamore St for about one block until you reach the intersection with E Bank St. Turn left onto E Bank St and continue for about half a mile. You will pass several historic buildings along the way. Next, continue straight as E Bank St turns into S Crater Rd. Follow S Crater Rd for approximately 1 mile until you see the entrance to Petersburg National Battlefield on your left.

    From downtown Petersburg, you can take the Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) bus. Head to the nearest PAT bus stop on E Washington St. Board the bus that goes towards the 'Petersburg National Battlefield' route. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes; make sure to check the schedule for the exact times. Disembark at the designated stop for Petersburg National Battlefield.
