If you're starting from downtown Roanoke, head northwest on S Jefferson St toward Campbell Ave SW. Continue onto US-220 N/I-581 N. Take exit 3A for US-460 E toward Blacksburg. Merge onto US-460 E and continue for about 10 miles. Take the exit toward Hanging Rock Battlefield Trail. Merge onto Hanging Rock Battlefield Trail and follow the road until you reach the monument. There is free parking available on-site.

To reach Hanging Rock Battlefield Monument via public transportation, start by taking the Valley Metro Bus from downtown Roanoke. You can catch Bus Route 25 towards Cave Spring. Disembark at the stop closest to the intersection of US-460 E and Hanging Rock Battlefield Trail. From there, you will need to walk about 1.5 miles along Hanging Rock Battlefield Trail to reach the monument. Please check the Valley Metro website for current schedules and possible fare costs.
