Walking
If you are starting from downtown Roanoke, head south on 1st St SW towards Campbell Ave SW. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Jefferson St SW. Turn right onto Jefferson St SW and walk for another 0.3 miles. You will see the Roanoke River in front of you. From there, follow the signs toward the Roanoke River and Railroad Historic District, which is located at 7 Old Woods Ave. The walk will take approximately 20 minutes.

For those near the Roanoke Civic Center, take the Valley Metro bus Route 11 towards the Roanoke River. Board the bus at the Civic Center stop and ride for about 10 minutes. Get off at the stop near the intersection of 5th St SW and Jefferson St SW. From there, walk south on Jefferson St SW for about 0.2 miles. The Roanoke River and Railroad Historic District will be on your left at 7 Old Woods Ave. The total journey should take around 30 minutes.
