If you are driving, start by getting onto US-29 S from wherever you are in Southwest Virginia. Follow US-29 S for approximately 60 miles until you reach the town of Buckingham. Once in Buckingham, take the exit onto W James Anderson Hwy (VA-20) and head west. Continue on W James Anderson Hwy for about 5 miles. Look for the intersection with Mt Rush Hwy (VA-56); the Geographic Center of Virginia (Marker O-39) will be located right at this intersection. There is parking available near the marker.

Once you arrive in Buckingham, you may need to use a taxi or rideshare service to get to the marker, as it is about 5 miles from the bus stop at the town center to the intersection of W James Anderson Hwy and Mt Rush Hwy.

If you are already in Buckingham and prefer to walk, head towards W James Anderson Hwy. Depending on your location within Buckingham, it might take you approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to walk to the marker, as it is about 5 miles away. Walk towards the western side of town and follow W James Anderson Hwy until you reach the intersection with Mt Rush Hwy. Please ensure to stay safe and be aware of traffic while walking.
