    If you are starting from Riverside Park, head east on 2nd St S toward State St. Continue straight onto 3rd St S. Once you reach the intersection with Main St, turn left onto Main St. Walk north for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with 9th St S. Take a right onto 9th St S. Continue walking until you reach the end of 9th St S, where it turns into Red Cloud Park. The marker is located within the park area.

    From the La Crosse River State Trail, if you are near the trailhead at Riverside Park, ride north along the trail until you reach the intersection with 5th Ave S. Turn left onto 5th Ave S and then take a right onto Main St. Continue on Main St until you arrive at the intersection with 9th St S. Turn left onto 9th St S and ride until you reach Red Cloud Park. The historical marker is in the park.
