From the main campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, begin at Bascom Hill. Head south on State Street until you reach the intersection with University Avenue. Continue straight on University Avenue for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Seminole Highway. Turn left onto Seminole Highway. The University of Wisconsin–Madison Arboretum will be on your right, approximately 0.5 miles down the road. Total walking distance is about 1.5 miles and should take around 30-35 minutes. The Arboretum is located at 1207 Seminole Hwy, Madison, WI 53711.

From the main campus, walk to the nearest bus stop on University Avenue. Board the Metro Transit bus route #80 (or any bus heading towards the Arboretum area).
