If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. Head southeast on the Great East Road (A3) towards Chirundu. After approximately 185 km, you'll reach the town of Chirundu. From Chirundu, take the road towards Lower Zambezi National Park, following the signs for the park entrance. Note that the road can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Once you enter the park, follow the signs to Sausage Tree Camp, which is located near the Jeki airstrip. The total driving distance is about 230 km and may take around 4-5 hours depending on road conditions. Be prepared for potential toll fees along the routes.

For travelers using public transportation, first take a bus from Lusaka to Chirundu. The bus journey will take around 3-4 hours, and you can find buses departing from the Intercity Bus Terminal in Lusaka. Once in Chirundu, you can hire a taxi or a local minibus to take you to the entrance of Lower Zambezi National Park. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes. At the park entrance, you will need to pay an entry fee to access the park (check the current fee structure as it may vary). From the entrance, you can arrange for a lodge transfer or a guided vehicle to take you to Sausage Tree Camp, which is around 1 hour away from the park entrance.
