What to expect
Cusco Airport Shuttle
Picking Up from Cusco Airport to your chosen hotel. Free morning to take a little rest and get the altitude.
At 1:10 p.m. you will be picked up from the hotel to take the city tour of about 4 hours. First, we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco, located on the Plaza de Armas. Then we continue to Qorikancha (temple of the sun). This is one of the finest specimens of ancient architecture, an Inca temple. Afterwards we’ll visit the convent of Santo Domingo. Later we will move on to the rest of the archaeological sites located just outside the city of Cusco. These sites are Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Pukapukara y Tambomachay. We will return to the city to spend the night in Cusco.
On this day an amazing tour awaits us. We will start our VIP excursion through the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Chinchero, where we will join a traditional weaving workshop. This village is mainly comprised of mud brick (adobe) houses and the locals still go about their businesses in traditional dress. The walls and roofs of this town are covered in beautiful floral and religious designs. We will be part of the most remarkable textile hand making shows and see great presentations made by locals.
We continue with a guided tour to the non-traditional Moray circuit, a unique archaeological group that is one of a kind. The gigantic circular depressions in the ground surface, with their respective irrigation canals were believed to be an agriculture investigation centre of the Inca’s. Then we drive to the salt mines located 7 km from Moray, pass through a typical Spanish village called Maras. To the northwest of the town of Maras, we will find around 2000 small wells that local people still use today to provide themselves with salt. Then we go to the next stop, Urubamba, where we will enjoy a great lunch. Afterwards we continue to Ollantaytambo where we’ll take the train to Aguas Calientes where we spend the night in a hotel. Option 1: You can spend the night in Ollantaytambo. Option 2: You can spend the night in Aguas Calientes.
Machu Picchu HotSprings
Our transportation will pick you up after breakfast and take you to the train station where you will board a train to Aguas Calientes. Once you arrive in Aguas Calientes, your private tour guide will welcome you and give you some last minute information before starting a tour of Machu Picchu.
We will then take a bus up the mountain. This bus journey takes around 25 minutes and follows a winding slope with beautiful views. Upon our arrival, we will check in at the Machu Picchu entrance gate before starting your long awaited tour of the sacred Incan citadel. This tour will last around 2 hours. We will experience the mysteries and magic of the sacred Incan citadel of Machu Picchu by visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows and various cemeteries. After some free time to explore the site, we will return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch. Your return to Cusco will be by train. At the train station our staff will be waiting to escort you to your hotel in Cusco.
We start the day with breakfast in the hotel. Then our journey by bus to Puno starts, this service includes 5 stops with a guide. The first stop will be Andahuaylillas at 3122 meters altitude. The church is a small structure consisting of one nave, apse and bell tower. But there’s a reason why it’s known as the Sistine Chapel of America. Then we continue to Raqchi “Temple of Wiracocha” (3450 meters altitude). The most important building inside the complex is the “Wiracocha temple” that according to the old chroniclers was built by the Inca Wiracocha in honor to the Superior God invisible for the Andean people. We continue to Sicuani to enjoy a buffet lunch (3552 meters altitude).
La Raya Pass
After lunch we hike to La Raya Pass (4335 meters altitude), which is the watershed between the valley that drains into Lake Titicaca and the valley that leads down to Cusco and to the Sacred Valley. The final stop is Pukara 3900 meters altitude was the first regional population centre in the northern Lake Titicaca Basin during the Late Formative Period (500 BC- AD 200), providing valuable insights into the origins of Andean civilization in the highlands. We arrive in Puno around 5:00 pm at 3800 meters altitude, where we spend the night in a hotel.
After breakfast we transfer you from your hotel to the port and by motor boat we travel to one of the Uros islands where you can observe the lives of the people who live on floating reed islands, some only 20 meters in length. After a beautiful 2 hour boat ride we reach Taquile Island where we will tour around the ruins and visit these beautiful people, world famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings. After you have some time to buy lunch we will return to Puno. Arrival in the afternoon and transfer back to hotel. Then we will take bus to Cusco, we overnight on the bus.
