Getting There

  • Driving

    From downtown Huntsville, follow Pratt Avenue east, which turns into Bankhead Parkway. The Land Trust trailhead parking lot is about half a mile past Toll Gate Road on the right. Parking is free. An alternative is to take Governors Drive east up Monte Sano Mountain and turn left on Monte Sano Blvd. The trailhead is 3/4 mile on the right.

  • Public Transport

    While public transportation directly to the trailhead is limited, check Huntsville's public transit (Orbit) for routes to the base of Monte Sano Mountain; from there, you may need to walk or use a ride-sharing service to reach the preserve. Single fares on Orbit are typically around $1.50.

  • Ride-sharing

    From downtown Huntsville, a ride-sharing service (Uber/Lyft) to the Bankhead Parkway trailhead will cost approximately $15-25, depending on demand and time of day.
