Discover more about The Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the world of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald at their former home in Montgomery, Alabama. This unique museum, the only one in the world dedicated to the couple, offers an intimate glimpse into their lives, works, and tumultuous relationship. The Fitzgeralds resided in this Craftsman-style house at 919 Felder Avenue from 1931 to 1932. During this brief but significant period, Scott worked on his novel *Tender is the Night*, while Zelda began writing *Save Me the Waltz*. The museum showcases a collection of Fitzgerald memorabilia, including photographs, letters, first editions of their novels, and personal possessions. Visitors can also admire several of Zelda's paintings, offering insight into her creative talents and struggles. The house itself has an interesting history. Built around 1910, it was later divided into apartments after the Fitzgeralds moved to Baltimore. In 1986, local residents Julian and Leslie McPhillips saved the house from demolition and established the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum, opening it to the public in 1987. Today, the museum stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Fitzgeralds. Visitors can explore the exhibits, watch a video about the house and the Fitzgeralds, and even stay overnight in the "Zelda Suite" or "Scott Suite" available through Airbnb. The museum hosts annual galas and other events throughout the year, celebrating the Jazz Age and the literary contributions of this iconic couple.
