Walking
The Mirador del Cerro Torre trail begins from El Chaltén. The main trailhead is located at the end of Los Charitos Street, near La Torcida camping. From the town center, walk north along Avenida San Martín, then turn left onto Los Charitos Street. Follow this street to the end, where you'll find the trailhead. The hike to the mirador is well-marked and easy to follow. The round trip to Mirador del Cerro Torre is approximately 12 miles (19 km) and takes about 6-8 hours, depending on your pace. The trail is free to access, but a permit from Parque Nacional Los Glaciares is required and can be obtained online.

Public Transport
El Chaltén is accessible by bus from El Calafate. From the El Chaltén bus terminal, the Mirador del Cerro Torre trailhead is easily reached on foot. Follow Avenida San Martín north, then turn left onto Los Charitos Street. The trailhead is at the end of this street. Bus fare from El Calafate to El Chaltén ranges from ARS 35,000 to ARS 42,000. A local transfer service within El Chaltén to the trailhead may be available for a small fee (approximately ARS 50), but walking is generally the most convenient option.

Taxis are available in El Chaltén, but are not typically used to reach the Mirador del Cerro Torre trailhead, as it is easily accessible on foot from the town center. A taxi ride from one end of El Chaltén to the other would likely cost around ARS 1,000-1,300. Instead of taking a taxi, consider using those funds to rent trekking poles.
