Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the El Calafate bus terminal located on Avenida del Libertador. Exit the terminal and head south on Avenida del Libertador towards the center of the town. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Calle 25 de Mayo. Turn right onto Calle 25 de Mayo. After a few blocks, you will see signs for Punta Walichu. Follow the signs as you walk for approximately 1.5 km until you reach the entrance of Punta Walichu - Reserva Natural y Arqueológica.

  • Taxi

    From any point in El Calafate, you can take a taxi to Punta Walichu. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'Punta Walichu - Reserva Natural y Arqueológica'. The taxi can take you directly to the entrance, which is located at PQ4X+53, Z9405 El Calafate. The ride should take about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in El Calafate. Begin your ride from the town center and head down Avenida del Libertador towards the south. After about 1 km, turn right onto Calle 25 de Mayo and continue following the signs for Punta Walichu. The total distance is approximately 3 km and should take about 15-20 minutes by bike.
