From the main square (Plaza San Martín) in El Chaltén, head southwest on Avenida San Martín. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers, following the signs to Laguna de los Tres. The trailhead is located at the end of the road by the Hotel Los Glaciares. This is where the hike to Fitz Roy begins. Ensure you have proper hiking gear, water, and snacks for the journey.

Once you reach the trailhead, the hike to the base of Fitz Roy (Laguna de los Tres) is approximately 10 kilometers one way, taking around 4-6 hours. The trail is well-marked but can be steep and challenging in some areas. Follow the signs for Laguna de los Tres. Keep in mind that the weather can change rapidly, so dress in layers and check local conditions before starting your hike.

There is a park entrance fee of approximately 1,500 ARS (Argentine Pesos) per vehicle.
