Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving to Lagoon de los Tres, start from El Chaltén, a small village that serves as the main access point to the area. From El Chaltén, head south on Route 23 for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Los Glaciares National Park. There is a small entrance fee (around 800 ARS per person, subject to change) that you will need to pay to access the park. Once you enter the park, follow the signs to the 'Laguna de los Tres' trailhead parking area. Park your vehicle in the designated area as parking is limited. From here, you will begin your hike.

  • Hiking

    After parking, the hike to Lagoon de los Tres begins at the trailhead located right next to the parking area. The trail is well-marked and takes approximately 2-3 hours to reach the lagoon, depending on your pace. The hike is about 6 kilometers (one way) and can be steep in certain sections, so make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry plenty of water. As you ascend, you will be rewarded with stunning views of Cerro Fitz Roy and the surrounding mountains. The final stretch includes a steep climb to the viewpoint of the lagoon.

This walk will take about 30 minutes and will lead you directly to the parking area where the hike begins.
