Getting There

• Car

  From Kaibab National Forest, head east on AZ-64 E. This road will take you directly to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. The drive is approximately 60 miles and will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions. As you approach the park, you will encounter the entrance station where you will need to pay an entrance fee of $35 per vehicle (valid for 7 days). After passing through the entrance, follow the signs to the Visitor Center and parking areas.

• Public Transportation

  If you're relying on public transportation, your best option is to take a shuttle service from nearby towns such as Williams or Flagstaff. From Kaibab National Forest, you would need to drive or arrange transportation to one of these towns first. In Williams, you can catch the Grand Canyon Railway shuttle, which travels to the South Rim. The cost for this service is approximately $60 for a round trip. Ensure to check the schedule in advance to plan your visit accordingly.

• Hiking/Biking

  For the adventurous type, consider hiking or biking from Kaibab National Forest to the Grand Canyon. While this is a strenuous option and not for everyone, there are trails that connect the two areas. Make sure to plan your route carefully, carry sufficient water, food, and gear, and inform someone of your plans. This option may not have any direct costs, but you'll need to ensure you have proper equipment and possibly a map of the trails.
