    If you're already in Downtown Tucson, El Presidio Plaza is easily accessible by foot. From the corner of Congress St and Stone Ave, walk west on Congress St for about 0.3 miles until you reach Church Ave. Turn left onto Church Ave and walk south for one block to W Alameda St. The plaza will be on your left at 165 W Alameda St.

El Presidio Plaza, located in downtown Tucson, is a historic civic plaza with roots stretching back to 1775. Situated between City Hall and the Pima County Historic Courthouse, the plaza provides a green space for relaxation and reflection. Originally a Spanish colonial outpost, the plaza has served many purposes throughout its history. It was initially used for military drills and public gatherings. Over time, it has been known as Plaza de las Armas, Sunset Park, and Kennedy Plaza. Today, El Presidio Plaza hosts community festivals, political events, and weddings. The 2.75-acre plaza features veteran memorials, including a memorial wall and the Battle of the Bulge monument. A rose garden is dedicated to John F. Kennedy. The plaza also contains a large fountain and various art pieces, such as the Mormon Battalion statue and El Soldado Cuera. The fountain was designed by French-American artist Charles Clement. El Presidio Plaza sits atop an underground parking garage. It's a hub for nearby attractions, museums, and local shops. The plaza is open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM.
