Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Prescott, take AZ-89 N from Gurley St. Follow AZ-89 N for about 5 miles. Turn right onto Walker Rd and continue for approximately 2 miles. Then turn left onto Peavine Trail. The Northwest Passage Trailhead will be on your right after about 1 mile. There is no parking fee at the trailhead.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take the local bus service to a stop near the Prescott Public Library. From there, you will need to contact a local taxi service or rideshare option (like Uber or Lyft) to reach the Northwest Passage Trailhead. The taxi ride will take about 15-20 minutes and may cost around $15-$25 depending on the time of day and traffic.

• Biking

  For those who prefer biking, starting from downtown Prescott, head north on Montezuma St. which will turn into Willow Creek Rd. Follow it until you reach the Peavine Trail. Follow the Peavine Trail until you reach the Northwest Passage Trailhead. This is a scenic route but requires a mountain bike for the best experience.

• Walking/Hiking

  If you are already near the Peavine Trail, you can walk to the Northwest Passage Trailhead. Simply follow the Peavine Trail north for about 1.5 miles, and you will come to the trailhead. Ensure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry water.
