McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, located in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona, is a 30-acre park that celebrates the history of railroads while providing a fun-filled experience for visitors of all ages. The park's story began in 1967 when the Fowler McCormicks donated 100 acres of McCormick Ranch to the City of Scottsdale, stipulating that it be used as a park for everyone. In 1996, the park was renamed McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park to honor Guy Stillman, who established the railroad. The park's attractions include the Paradise & Pacific Railroad, a 15 in (381 mm) gauge miniature railway that takes visitors on a scenic tour of the park. The Scottsdale Charros Carousel, a beautifully restored antique merry-go-round from 1950, offers a classic amusement park experience. The Scottsdale Railroad Museum showcases vintage railroad artifacts, model trains, and educational exhibits. Three model railroad clubs also reside within the park. Two playgrounds, including a Southwestern-themed one, provide ample space for children to play. Visitors can explore the Roald Amundsen Pullman Car, one of the last cars built by the Pullman Company in 1928, which was used by Presidents Herbert Hoover through Dwight D. Eisenhower. Another exhibit is the Magma Arizona Railroad Engine #6, a locomotive built in 1907 that operated for 54 years. The park also features the Family Circus Pavilion, honoring cartoonist Bil Keane. With its blend of outdoor activities, historical exhibits, and whimsical attractions, McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is a standout destination in Scottsdale.
