If you are driving in Verde Valley, head towards Cottonwood. From the center of Cottonwood, take AZ-89A N. Drive approximately 6 miles until you reach the Kestrel Road exit. Turn right onto Kestrel Road and continue straight for about 0.5 miles. The Verde River Greenway State Natural Area will be on your right at 2011 Kestrel Rd, Cottonwood, AZ 86326. Parking is available on-site, and there may be a nominal entrance fee, so be prepared for that.

If you are using public transportation, check the local bus schedules for Verde Valley. You may take the Verde Lynx public transit system which services the area. Look for routes that go towards Cottonwood. Disembark at the nearest stop to Kestrel Road. From there, you may need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach the Verde River Greenway State Natural Area. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may be limited, especially on weekends.
