Discover more about Arkansas National Guard Museum

The Arkansas National Guard Museum, situated on the grounds of Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich military history of Arkansas. Housed in the historic Lloyd England Hall, a Spanish Revival structure built in 1931 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum offers a comprehensive look at the Arkansas National Guard from its 1804 origins as a frontier militia to its present-day role in global operations. The museum's exhibits feature a wide array of artifacts, including uniforms, weapons, photographs, and personal accounts that highlight the commitment and valor of Arkansas soldiers throughout history. Visitors can explore the state's military contributions to conflicts such as the Mexican War, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Gulf War, and the Global War on Terror. A highlight is the Yeater Collection, comprising almost 200 weapons dating from the early 19th century through World War II. Beyond its military history exhibits, the museum also preserves the history of Camp Robinson itself, which was established as Camp Pike in 1917 to train soldiers for World War I. By the end of the war, Camp Pike had a population of over 54,000 troops. In 1922, the post was handed over to the Arkansas National Guard and later renamed Camp Joseph T. Robinson in honor of the Arkansas senator. The post served as a training base during World War II and even housed a POW camp for captured German soldiers. The museum is currently undergoing modernization, with a redesign of its central gallery to incorporate new, immersive displays and interactive experiences. This renovation aims to better tell the story of the Arkansas Militia/National Guard, including both domestic and foreign service, and to incorporate personal accounts from soldiers and airmen.
