Discover more about Arkansas National Guard Museum

The Arkansas National Guard Museum, located on Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the military history of Arkansas. Housed in the historic Lloyd England Hall, constructed in 1931 and on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum tells the story of the Arkansas National Guard from its earliest days as a frontier militia to its modern-day service. The museum's exhibits feature a wide array of artifacts, including uniforms, weapons, photographs, and personal stories that highlight the commitment and valor of Arkansas soldiers throughout history. Visitors can explore the state's military contributions across various conflicts, from the Mexican War and Civil War to World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Desert Storm, and the Global War on Terror. A highlight is the Yeater Collection, comprising almost 200 weapons dating from the early 19th century to World War II. The museum also preserves the history of Camp Robinson itself, originally built as Camp Pike in 1917 to train soldiers for World War I. By the end of the war, Camp Pike had a population of over 54,000 troops. In 1922, the post was handed over to the Arkansas National Guard and later renamed Camp Joseph T. Robinson in honor of the late Arkansas Senator. During World War II, the camp trained troops for infantry and medical replacement, housing a possible 100,000 troops by 1943 and even a POW camp for around 3,000 captured German soldiers. Visitors can also experience the Walk of Honor, featuring memorial bricks placed on the front walkway, honoring those who served. The museum is free to the public and offers an audio tour.
