Church Street Station Venue stands as a testament to Jonesboro's rich history, offering a unique event space with architectural significance. Constructed between 1911 and 1913, the building originally served as the U.S. Post Office and federal courthouse, designed in the Renaissance Revival style by James Knox Taylor. The building was expanded in 1936 to accommodate the growing needs of the postal service and the court. Over the years, the building has housed various government agencies, including the Civil Service Commission, USMC Recruiting Station, and the FBI. In 1977, it was declared surplus federal property and was purchased by the City of Jonesboro and Craighead County. It has since been repurposed, serving as the city police department, a restaurant called Sue's Kitchen, loft apartments, and finally, the Church Street Station event venue. Compass Church leased the building in 2020. Today, Church Street Station offers a distinctive atmosphere for weddings, banquets, and other special occasions. Its location near Main Street provides convenient access to downtown amenities. The venue combines historical elements with modern updates, creating a memorable experience for guests.
