Discover more about The Foundation of Arts- Forum Theater

The Foundation of Arts-Forum Theater stands as a testament to Jonesboro's commitment to the arts. Since 1986, the FOA has enriched the community by providing accessible, high-quality arts programming. The organization was formed through the merger of The Jonesboro Fine Arts Council, The Northeast Arkansas Symphony, and The Friends of the Forum, with the Forum Theatre as its primary venue. The Forum Theater itself boasts a rich history. Originally constructed in 1926 as The Strand, it served as a movie house and the largest theater in the area for over 40 years. In the mid-1970s, the City of Jonesboro purchased the building and renovated it into a modern performance space, renaming it The Forum in 1978. Today, the theater continues to host a variety of performances, including theater productions, musical performances, and community events. In addition to the Forum Theater, the Foundation of Arts operates The Arts Center on Main Street, which provides year-round classes in visual arts, theater, and dance. This center allows individuals of all ages and skill levels to explore their creative potential. The FOA also has Stage, Too which offers a unique experience, combining entertainment and a cozy, relaxing atmosphere.
