Discover more about Hot Springs Mountain Tower

Hot Springs Mountain Tower stands as the 'highest' landmark in Hot Springs, offering visitors a breathtaking panorama of the region. From the open-air observation deck at 1,256 feet above sea level, you can see over 140 square miles of the surrounding countryside, including the entirety of Hot Springs National Park and a portion of the Ouachita Mountains. The lower observation deck is enclosed and air-conditioned, featuring exhibits that delve into the park's and local history. The tower is the third to occupy this site. In 1877, Enoch Woolman, a local mill owner, erected a wooden observation tower to showcase the views. This was followed by the Rix Tower, a steel structure named after Charles N. Rix, which was relocated from the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition. The current tower was constructed in 1982 and opened to the public in June 1983, quickly becoming an iconic symbol of Hot Springs. A gift shop at the base offers souvenirs and refreshments. Whether you choose to drive up the scenic Hot Springs Mountain Drive or hike the 1.5-mile trail from Fountain Street, the Hot Springs Mountain Tower promises an unforgettable experience.
