Getting There

    If you're driving from the main area of Dilijan National Park, head towards the town of Alaverdi. Start by taking the A1 highway north, which will take you directly towards Alaverdi. Once you reach Alaverdi, look for signs to Sanahin Monastery. The monastery is located approximately 2 kilometers from the center of Alaverdi. You can use the coordinates (41.0872827, 44.6660897) in your GPS to find the exact location. There may be parking available near the monastery.

  • Public Transportation

    From Dilijan, you can take a marshrutka (minibus) heading to Alaverdi. Marshrutkas leave from the central bus station in Dilijan. The fare is usually around 1,000 AMD (approximately $2.50). The journey takes about an hour. Once you arrive in Alaverdi, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Sanahin Monastery, which is about 2 kilometers away.
