If you are traveling by car, begin your journey from the center of Gegharkunik. Head southeast on the M4 highway towards Vardenis. After approximately 15 kilometers, take the exit towards the Azat Reservoir, which is well-marked. Follow the signs for about 7 kilometers until you reach the reservoir. There is no entry fee for the reservoir, but ensure your vehicle has enough fuel as there are limited services nearby.

To reach Azat Reservoir using public transportation, start at the Gegharkunik bus station. Look for any minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Vardenis. The fare is typically around 300-500 AMD.
