  • Walking

    From Geghard Monastery, exit the main entrance and head south. You will see signs indicating the trail to Mount Yeranos. Follow the path that leads towards the mountain, which is about 1.5 kilometers away from the monastery. The trail is well-marked, and you may encounter some steep sections, so wear comfortable shoes. It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to reach the base of Mount Yeranos.

    If you have access to a car, exit Geghard Monastery and drive towards the village of Garni. Follow the road signs to Garni, and then continue toward the road that leads to Mount Yeranos. The drive is about 15 minutes. Park your car at the nearest point to the trailhead, which is well indicated. From there, walk the remaining distance to the mountain, which is roughly 1 kilometer. The trail is accessible from the parking area.

    To reach Mount Yeranos via public transportation, first, take a minibus (marshrutka) from Yerevan to Garni. The minibus ride takes about 30-40 minutes and usually costs around 300 AMD (approximately $0.75). Once you arrive in Garni, you can either walk to the trailhead towards Mount Yeranos or hire a local taxi, which might cost around 1000-1500 AMD ($2.50 - $4).
